We Are Hunted provide an approach to music discovery utilising smart tech that listens to what people are saying about artists and their music on blogs, social networks, forums, Twitter and P2P networks to chart the top 99 songs online each day.
When I joined their team, they were looking to improve upon their popular music discovery site. The main problem they faced was getting users to click past the first 9 songs that owned the homepage.
By eliminating the white space that would plague the site on larger screens, we created something that resized dynamically and utilised horizontal hover scrolling. This enabled users to move past the first 9 songs, all the way to #99 without ever having to click.
My role within the redesign and launch was one of managing quality assurance of new site functionality and user experience. I also wrote site copy, went out to press and utilised social media to help us increase traffic to well over 1M visitors in the first few months from launch.
Since then We Are Hunted has since been acquired by Twitter.
