259 George Street is one of the tallest buildings in Sydney’s CBD. The building required a makeover and has gone through immense design changes in the interior lobby, entrances and workings within. SML has worked with the client from the beginning of their ownership to a strong presence and identity for 259 George in the Sydney cityscape. We created an identity, logotype and subsequent 259 font, that represents the brutalist exterior with it’s unique cement blades into their vision for a more modern sleek structure.
We organised the commission of a sculpture series, by Dion Horstmans, for the lobby that complements the new interior and architecture beautifully with its sharp futuristic lines that strike out from the cool marble walls.
