About Ryan

I have recently completed a Bacehlor of Creative Arts (Majoring in Screen and Media in addition to Creative Writing).

In 2006; I interned in Los Angeles, CA for Ithaka Films under producer/s Braxton Pope and Andrew Weiner. Ithaka Films had a first-look deal with Lionsgate. The job invovled overseeing screenplays (low budget: noir, drama, comedy and horror focused) and general administration.

In 2013 I was responsible for writing film reviews for Brisbane website Cheated Hearts (website no longer active). This involved weekly reviews of theatrical films released during their first-run in cinemas. I covered both the 2013 BFF and the Brisbane The Wolf of Wall Street premiere.

In 2016 I began running an Instagram account called VHS Mate. This account is devoted to archiving VHS specific horror and cult-film content. In conjuction the Instagram account is linked to a blogsite where the VHS titles are archived and indepth analysis and coverage is posted, The account has garnered over 2500 followers globally over the course of twleve months.

During 2016 I completed my debut short film mentored by cinematographer Greg Huglin (The Cove). I was responsible for producing, directing and writing the vignette. Titled NOAH STOCCA, the vignette was submitted to Surfing Australia and showcased at USC.

In addition I was the recepient of high distinction commendment from University of the Sunshine Coast for achievement within my screenwriting, youth fiction and children's television and media subjects

Currently I am contributing to US horror mediasite Bloody Disgusting as a writer.

In addition to my creative pursuits and studies I have a strong background in retail, managing flagship stores between Brisbane and Sydney.
