With previous success working with Norths Leagues Club on ‘The Greens- North Sydney’ (a venue also owned by the Club), the client understood the value of experiential design, and what it can add to a venue. Pony was therefore appointed to actualise the Club’s concept of creating a ‘food bazaar’ experience for their members & guests. This offer is a step up from what a Leagues Club is traditionally known for, and therefore the brief was to ensure the way patrons connected with the space would enhance this experience and cement the Club’s position as being a leader in the hospitality industry.
Working closely with the furniture supplier & client, Pony selected and designed bespoke furniture elements that compliment and add value to the pre-designed architectural structure and interior shell (which was designed by external parties).
Through the implementation of eclectic antique styling elements combined with contemporary furniture design, Pony has created an atmospheric journey through ‘The Pantry’ into the connecting terraces areas.
The layering and collation of objects is a nod to a garden terrace environment, while the food bazaar experience is created through the displays of fresh produce which navigate the space, the aromas of fresh herbs permeating the air. Platforms for the chefs to interact with diners are scattered throughout the venue, providing diners with a theatrical & sensory component to their experience at ‘The Pantry’.
