Common Magazine is a personal project.
It is a zine that aims to highlight what we have in common rather than our differences. This is done through sourcing artworks and photos from around the world that share common elements or themes in unlikely circumstances.
As creators we can be worlds apart, come from different cultures and backgrounds, but sometimes the way we interpret the world and showcase these interpretations helps us meet in the middle. Common magazine is about us as people and using our art as a metaphor for the traits we have in common as human beings.
I really focused on the layout of the images; I wanted it to be a journey through colour and placement and for the reader to feel effortlessly guided, not distracted. Each spread is a destination of it's own.
