For as long as anyone can remember, fad dieting and eating habits have been a hugely discussed and debated topic. Rather than sticking to a delicious, nutritious meal plan, every second person is absent-mindedly jumping aboard the fad dieting train; a train destined to crash.
Food Faddism offers a guide to fad dieting, taking upon it an encyclopedia style format that offers twenty six diets discussed and dissected. By matching each letter of the alphabet to a food trend, an overwhelming army of unhealthy eating habits comes to light. Ultimately, this accentuates the unrelenting nature and nutritional instability of faddist eating and the ever-popular ‘foodie’ lifestyle.
By taking a satirical and humorous stance to reflect the senseless nature of fad dieting, the object of this project is for viewers to be left with an experience that challenges thought about the flawed, misconceived nature of these quick-fix diets.
