We are looking for a talented UX designer to join our Foxtel Product UX team in our mission to create awesome experiences that our customers love !
Our product portfolio includes Foxtel's set top boxes as well as the Foxtel Go, Play, TV Guide and Presto apps, and spans mobile, tablet, online, TV, smart TVs, game consoles and more. The role involves collaborating closely with the UX team, Business Analysts, Product Managers and other stakeholders. In a nutshell, each project requires understanding the business goals and customer needs, generating ideas, concepts, wireframes and other UX artefacts, to create great UI solutions.
Key Responsibilities include:
Create concepts, layouts, wireframes, IA documents, flows, user journeys, prototypes, designs and other UX artefacts that define a highly usable solution.
Collaborate with UX team, Business Analysts, Product Managers and others to plan and execute the design process efficiently.
Collaborate closely with Business Analysts to document UX specifications for development, including functionality, behaviours and animations.
Facilitate workshops and feedback sessions.
Conduct qualitative research such as user interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing to create actionable insights, as well as desk research such as competitor analysis and heuristic reviews.
Create visual designs when required, using existing look-and-feel. Note this is not core to the role.
Work closely with the development team to ensure designs and interactions are properly implemented.
Skills and experience required:
4+ years of most recent experience designing complex consumer applications for mobile, tablet (iOS/Android) and online. In addition, TV screen application design experience will be very highly regarded.
Excellent skills in wireframing and rapid prototyping tools (such as sketching, Balsamiq, Invision and Axure).
Track record of creating highly usable UIs.
Solid experience with user-centred design methodologies and current UX techniques.
Experience conducting user research activities
In-depth knowledge of UI design patterns and trends
Strong skills in interaction design
Mid-level visual design skills, including tools such as PhotoShop, Illustrator, Fireworks and Sketch.
Good problem solving ability and excellent attention to detail.
Experience collaborating and driving consensus with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Good communicator of rationale behind UI design decisions.
