Who we are
We are a small team of high achievers with a razor sharp focus on building beautiful, simple, trustworthy tools that support the global development of local content diversity.
Central to this goal is the need for a sustainable, thriving local publishing industry across the world, that can effectively demonstrate its value to consumers and advertisers.
This mission is born global from day one, and has seen us gain clients that range from the Washington Post, BBC & ESPN, all the way down to local community publications in Sub Saharan Africa.
We operate in over 25 countries, from three key regional bases, but all of our product development & senior leadership work from a friendly, warm and highly motivated open plan forrest in the Melbourne CBD.
Why we do it
We are a group of people who fundamentally believe that for the web to exercise its full potential, it needs to support diverse voices.
Our mission is to build and market trustworthy and simple tools that enable businesses to find audiences that match their brand stories so they can support local publishing to provide a wider view than what you will find on simply Google or Facebook.
We believe that by supporting these local voices, we can help support local people, industries and cultures around the world.
What we value & how we work
Trust - We believe that great people:
Want to work with people and tools they can trust
Move faster when there is no second guessing
Solve problems when they feel empowered
Diversity to us means the intersection of different points of view, cultures and backgrounds. It's not just about race or gender, it's about having better conversations by inviting more perspectives to the table. We like to have arguments (not fights) that we approach with strong opinions that are weakly held (go on convince us we are wrong, that's what we're hoping for).
Simplicty - Seek clarity, speak plainly, find solutions.
If you've made it this far, you hopefully like the sound of who we are, now let’s talk about you.
Things we'd need from you
You will be someone who first and foremost understands the massive effect that visual design has on a person's experience with a product or service
You will be someone who strives to find the shortest path to a great solution.
You will actively seek out that single simple moment of truth that will have us all saying, "well of course you would do it that way".
You are self actualised, trustworthy with commitments, and can hold yourself to a deadline; we want to love you, but not like a parent.
You are a bit of a ninja (even if you do say so yourself) with the all the best tools (Adobe CS, Sketch, Invision, Zeplin).
You have at least wrapped your head around the concepts of CSS & HTML if only to make your designs easier to implement by our team of mega brain code warriors.
You are able to demonstrate in a single URL some of the great work you have already done that lead you to this moment (remember we like simple, as it shows how much effort you have put into conveying a message.)
What we will give you in return
We promise you this, we will have a lot of fun working together:
Diligently and with passion, but not exhaustively (we don't believe in 14 hours days).
Solving big meaningful problems for awesome companies (we get a kick out of helping the little guy as well as the big companies)
Across extremely diverse, exciting cultures from Capetown to Dubai, through Manila to Melbourne.
You'll be helping us rebrand and rebuild all of the digital products associated with [...] (renaming as [...] in the next few months)
And you will not have to worry about how you put food on the table. Whilst we don't think the pay packet is the reason you should take a job (honestly if it is, we think you will be happier somewhere else), we will make sure you feel valued and are taken care of.
