Teacher/Professor of animation
Jumbla is looking for a new leader for our uber-successful Jumbla Academy. You can find out more about the Academy on our jumbla . com website on the academy page.
You will be teaching small groups - eight maximum - of aspiring animators looking to break into the animation industry, taking them from recent graduates to studio ready prospects through a 12 week course that teaches them the ins and outs of how modern animation studios really work.
To land this gig, you’ll need to be an experienced animation expert with experience working in the industry for 5+ years to be able to answer any and all of the questions students may have about After Effects, design, illustration and animation in general.
Teaching experience isn’t necessary but may be beneficial - however, having the drive and passion to teach and mentor young aspiring animators is a must.
This role is a full-time position, 5 days per week.
What you will need:
The person needs to have 5+ years experience in animation (in studio or as a teacher).
Have a good folio of work to show their ability to be able to design and animate.
Expert knowledge of After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign.
Willingness and ambition to learn and teach.
Have a good balance of organisation and creativity.
What you will be doing:
Creating and improving on course structure
Creating project briefs for students
Working with other teachers to create the best program possible
Teaching students the software and a bit of theory behind animation and design
Teach the next wave of animation talent with a course structure that is relevant to the industry today
