Humdrum Films create genuinely
handcrafted wedding films. We’re highly regarded by both our industry peers and
clients alike. We work with discerning couples all across Australia and beyond.
We're currently seeking a full-time editor to help us tell unique stories
through the moving image.
We don't create average wedding films. We aren't looking for an average
Humdrum was born from our passion as filmmakers and our desire to share our
couples story in a unique, engaging and cinematic way.
You'll need to share that passion. It's not a production line, and you aren't
just getting it out the door. You need to care about the couple and their film,
and be proud of what you create.
If you're a passionate story-teller, we want to hear from you.
A high-level of proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Mac OS X is required, and
your ability to mix audio levels and colour grade is looked upon favourably.
Skills with Davinci Resolve are a bonus.
You need to be honest, with the ability
to exercise discretion when dealing with any of our high profile clients.
You’ll have a strong work ethic and the
ability to work independently and/or under direction with a sense of workflow
urgency. Good time management skills are essential.
We provide a fun and flexible work environment and you’ll be warmly welcomed
into our tight-knit family.
Pay is negotiable consummate with experience.
This part is super important:
Before you apply, you should spend some time on our website looking through our work - discover what our names are, and get a feel for what we do and our editing style.
It kills us when we get emails saying 'To Whom it May Concern' or 'Dear Sir or Madam'. So don't do that.
We’d love to receive a short cover letting us know a little more about you, why
you’d like to join the team and how and why our work resonates with you.
Most importantly, we need to get an understanding of your storytelling ability. This means we aren't particularly interested in showreels - we need to see that you're a kickass editor. So show us examples of your best editing - completed jobs/full edits are best (an edit in it's entirety). They don't need to be wedding related.
To apply, follow the steps through The Loop or send an email to team (at) humdrumfilms dot com dot au
Attention to detail is key at Humdrum, if you can't follow the
instructions about applying above, sadly, your application will simply be
We’re really sorry, but due to the volume of applicants, only successful
candidates will be contacted.
We're a small and busy studio, so please don't call. We promise it won't help your chances if you do.
