Host/Havas is looking for a Junior Art Director to join our creative department. You’ll be teaming up with a gun Junior Writer to form a talented and ambitious junior team packed with potential and all set to capitalise on some awesome opportunities.
To give you some context, Host and Havas came together earlier this year to create a dynamic, modern agency with big ideas, clever thinking and digital smarts at its heart. It’s a case of 1+1=3 as we’ve combined creative firepower, resources and accounts to set ourselves up as a major player in the region.
We’re looking for an excellent lateral thinker with natural creative flair, who has the ability to conceptualise and execute outstanding creative ideas, along with a solid understanding of all media channels, particularly digital.
You will be responsible for contributing to the creative excellence of the agency, developing and producing creative concepts from brand campaigns to integrated projects with digital at their heart to quick-turnaround retail ads. It’s worth noting that ‘creative excellence’ isn’t a term we throw around lightly: we’re super ambitious to do really outstanding, world class work – work that gets talked about, wins awards locally and globally, and makes our clients (and us!) famous.
In terms of reporting structure, we have a CCO, who sits across the whole creative department, but you’ll usually be working into our 3 ECDs - with the exact ECD dependent on the project and client. As part of the team you form with our copywriter, we’ll be looking for you to serious make a mark and become a really hot young team capable of cracking smart, talkable ideas on all kinds of briefs. To keep things fresh, we’ll also be looking to team you with different partners occasionally or to give you solo projects, too.
You will probably have around 3 years’ experience in an agency environment, a solid understanding of creative development processes including conceptual development, digital, print, TV and radio production, and will have skills in Illustrator and Photoshop. More importantly, you’ll have a book that excites and inspires us.

About the Opportunity
As a creative advertising Copywriter, you are a great communicator and you can make ideas come to life. It is your task to take the business problem and communicate the key facts to the audience in a clear and concise manner.
What does success look like?
You will be responsible for writing short and long form content for digital, social and print platforms in line with brand tone of voice. Creating and conceptualising multiple concepts for campaigns; writing, copy-editing and proof reading print and digital content.
You will also be:Collaborating with Senior Creative Manager to discuss brief requirements and core messagesManaging relationships with key stakeholders to assist in the in-house function developmentResponsible for writing in Brand tone of voice, ensuring on-going training in collaboration with Brand team.
What will help you succeed?
You will be tertiary qualified with 4+yrs experience copywriting at an agency or in-house creative function (or similar position within Financial services). Long and short form copywriting experience, with the ability to understand brand personality, position and tone of voice is essential. We're looking for a superstar design intern to support our small design team. You'll have the opportunity to create digital and print marketing campaigns, web and mobile designs. You'll also be involved in user interviews and testing.
Looking for a talented person who has good design asthetic and a natural ability to create simple, beautiful user experiences. We're more interested in talent and attitude than experience. You must be a learner and constantly interested in design trends and new products.
Small salary of $150 per day, approximately 2 days per week. Amazing opportunity for an awesome graduate to get hands on experience designing a high profile startup. Develop some powerful content for your portfolio.
Potential to evolve into a full time role for the right person but we're also happy for this to be a short term appointment.
