Pacific Magazines, Australia's most innovative and exciting magazine publisher with a diverse portfolio of titles including many of Australia's favourites, is seeking a highly creative Digital Design Director.
Reporting to the Head of Digital and Innovation and based in Sydney this position will be responsible for the creative design and branding of all Pacific Magazine's Digital properties while working closely and collaboratively with other Pacific Magazines teams including Marketing, Editorial and Advertising to ensure all digital executions are aligned with each of the brands. You will also be responsible for user interfaces and experiences on all websites, social channels and mobile applications while taking the lead in identifying, educating and implementing world's best practices in digital web and smartphone app IA, UX and design.
As the successful candidate you will demonstrate the ability to apply and generate designs and create well thought out wireframes and mock-ups to facilitate the implementation of those design elements on the websites and on mobile devices.
You are highly creative and a strong communicator with grounding in web design and art direction, in particular, a complete understanding of creative visual development processes and an in-depth knowledge of web development and associated technologies. You will possess knowledge of web production methodology, good working knowledge of CSS techniques, W3C Compliant (X)HTML (coding not necessary) and demonstrate a thorough understanding of web design principles – including usability, interface design and good site architecture.
This is a truly innovative role in a fast paced environment where you will be given ample opportunity to try new approaches, and work on everything from prototyping features to making the details pixel-perfect. Ideally you should be a graduate in a design discipline or have good experience in consumer web design, but what we're really looking for is for you to show us your outstanding talent and potential.
