The Bureau of Meteorology is Australia's national weather, climate and water information agency and one of the few organisations that touches the lives of all Australians and all Australia, every day.
We are seeking an experienced and creative graphic designer with skills in the Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft suites. As part of the Bureau's Design and Production team in the Community Outreach Program, you will develop digital and print graphic projects to effectively communicate the Bureau's products and services.
Guided by the Bureau's strategic and operational objectives with a strong focus on our customers, you will use your skills to communicate complex weather, climate, water and ocean information. You will design and produce a range of communication material including infographics, advertisements, publications, web pages, posters, brochures and online newsletters.
To be considered, you will require a combination of up-to-date technical knowledge and creative flair, and be a conceptual thinker with an excellent eye for design. You will be a tertiary-qualified graphic designer and have at least four years' current experience in a graphic design environment.
You will have experience working in a large organisation and a commitment to quality, delivery and teamwork. You will have well-developed project management skills, be organised, motivated and able to deliver high-quality design across multiple channels. Social media experience and video animation experience are highly desirable.
The role requires developing close working relationships with internal stakeholders including communication, management and technical teams across the Bureau. You will be part of a proactive team responsible for the Bureau's communication function and contributing to our Strategic Plan (2017â2022).
