Festival Manager

Melbourne, Victoria

This is a very special opportunity .oO

You will be working alongside festival creative director Andrew Suttar (aka Dr Froth) - one of the world’s most innovative and entrepreneurial soap bubble artists. The first Incredibubble Festival will be a low-key event and is coming up this April. Instead of a stand-alone festival it will be running as an attraction ‘within’ Corowa Shire Council’s larger “Festival Of Fun for Kids”. The ‘content’ of the Incredibubble Festival has been designed and managed by the team of bubbleologists at Bubble Media and most of the general planning has already been done. You are effectively responsible for teaching us how to ‘meticulously’ plan, document and run a festival in terms of its ‘backend’. For this first event all of the bigger event logistics will be handled by the Shire of Corowa.

For the first festival in April, you will be responsible for documenting and managing:
Operations
Planning
Budgeting

After this first event, you will be also be responsible for documenting and managing:
Sponsorship
Marketing & PR
Customer Feedback

The intern role suits someone who would be confident in running a smallish festival 2000-10000 PAX. Either you have had some experience already in running similar events or you’re a new graduate and are eager for the real-world experience. This role suits a self-starter, someone who thrives in responsibility as lives and breathes initiative and fun.

From there you will be responsible for continuing to generate the business and operational plans for further Incredibubble Festivals in local and regional communities Australia-wide.

The internship would be for 3 months starting in March.

You would be expected to contribute 3 days per week. Part of this includes reporting to and working alongside Andrew Suttar at Hub Melbourne 5 hours per week. Bubble Media will cover your basic expenses including your Hub10 Membership (which comes with extraordinary networking benefits).

Government councils whom we already have relationships are very excited by the concept of an Incredibubble Festival and depending upon the success of the festival, there maybe a paid position available at the end of the internship.

You’ll also get to blow the biggest soap bubbles of your entire life .oO
