Procrastination is a newly established educational games and software company
based in Melbourne CBD. We are a group of individuals who are proactive,
creative, curious and open-minded.
Productive Procrastination will launch LEDA, its
inaugural leadership and interpersonal skills behaviour change platform, in
early 2017. Our vision is to
grow and improve leaders through innovative solutions, and we strive to manifest
what our platform teaches, including resilience, growth-mindset and empathy.
order to help accomplish that vision, we are seeking to add key members to our
Productive Procrastination is looking for a writer to join our team and collaborate on multiple facets of LEDA.
We are looking for a creative individual who can appreciate and
understand both our mission and the content that drives it – including research
or example situations from corporate environments.
You will use this pool of information to craft engaging scripts, with
the help of our research experts, which will form the basis for the creation of
the animated cartoons that are at the core of our educational platform.
You will also create short branching, interactive scenarios for the platform’s
games, that illustrate how the positive behaviours taught in the cartoons translate
into better leadership and work environments.
Finally, you will participate in preparing interviews with managers
and experts, using the content you helped shape as a basis to orient the
discussion towards core topics.
We are looking for someone for a three-month contract who is available
to start immediately. There is potential for the position to become full-time
when the contract expires. We strongly encourage diverse candidates to apply.
As we are a new company, all team members are expected to contribute
to ideas, company direction, and be prepared to take on responsibilities and
tasks beyond their traditional role. You will participate in frequent content
reviews where you will have the chance to give your opinion on the platform's
content, even outside your specific field. Your opinion about all parts of the
platform will be solicited and valued. Similarly, the creation of scripts and
scenarios will be a joint effort, albeit one that you will lead; so being a
team player is a crucial aspect of this position.
We expect team members to be driven and engage with the platform
ideals. It is important that all members believe in LEDA’s goal of behaviour
change. Having personally experienced some of the issues we aim to tackle and/or
having experience in corporate environments in general, would go a long way
towards understanding the content and in turn, being able to create more
The content you create will be driven by clarity and engagement. Any
experience writing for media that share these objectives will be a valuable
asset. Experience writing for games or interactive media, along with an
understanding of branching / emergent narrative, would also be highly
Current methods of teaching leadership and
interpersonal skills have not been effective in creating long-term behavioural
change. Our platform is designed to close this gap, focusing on delivering
relevant content, keeping it top of mind, and programming in regular practice
and application to promote enduring change.

One sunny afternoon, not long ago, if you had poked your head past the roller door at the Wine Gallery HQ, you would have found us all sitting around our internal wine bar (read communal desks) celebrating!
It had a been a great month. We had launched the new platform in late 2016. Our organic customer traction had started to pick up nicely. And on top of that, we had managed to score the award for best new Australian E-Commerce Startup. So moral was high. But at the same time, we knew that this was just a good start. And our minds quickly shifted to the list of ideas we wanted to do next.
And that's about the time we realised that our grand ambitions were being stifled by a few key skill gaps. You see, Banjo (Chief Wine Officer) had the wine skills down pat. Humberto (Chief of Technical Stuff) had the coding skills. Tom (Chief of Everything Else) had some finance skills. And Manning ...Well, let's just say Manning can pack a mean box of wine.
What our motley wine crew was missing was the creator/editor/producer type. We needed someone that could take our written, imagery and video content to the next level and support the rapid growth of the rest of the business. Which is where you come in...
We need someone that has an abundance of creativity and vision, but also the 'know how' to design and build out our overall content strategy. Equally, this person won't be afraid to get their hands dirty and whip up lifestyle blog posts, design our latest EDM, interview our wine makers, or shoot photos for our social posts. Someone that's handy with a DSLR, but also comfortable producing quality video assets on a budget.
Day-to-day they'll have a regular set of production responsibilities including written and visual wine and food related content. But they'll also be working on more ambitious brand and PR campaign assets. Lastly, we need you to be the type always to be pushing and challenging the rest of the team and the status quo with your ideas.
So if you're the type that has a weakness for the odd bottle of delicious wine and you were reading the above and thought: 'Damn! That's me,' and you've got the skill set to match, then let's pause for a second, while we tell you a little bit about us, so you can decide if we're the right fit for you.
We are a Sydney based, early stage wine startup with the mission to take the intimidation and confusion out of learning, exploring and most importantly drinking delicious bottles of wine. We are building a wine brand that is simultaneously remarkable yet inclusive, and it’s our mission to provide our customers with access to a world of wine that may just have been a little beyond their comfort zone.
We like to think of ourselves as providing monthly wine adventures, customised to each member's unique tastes, delivered to their door. Where they can learn as much (or as little) about their wines each month as they like. We're a little over a year old, and we've just started to hit our stride. If this sounds good so far? Great! Keep reading...
You'll be the fifth full-time amigo in our wine team and can expect to play a massive role in growing what we're building. We've got grand ambitions for where we want to take this baby, and you're going to play a huge part in getting us there. You'll be the head of your own little content empire with a lot of autonomy, so self-drive is a must. But you can also expect a lot of support from the rest of the team.
You can expect to work hard, but productively, with a focus on results, not face time. You'll be moving quickly and facing new challenges every day. We're constantly testing and experimenting, so mistakes are going to happen. But we're cool with that because we're constantly learning and improving as we go.
The role suits a clever cookie willing to delay the big dollars in the short term, for the chance to get in on the ground level and have a huge say over the direction and success of our ambitious little wine co. $60k salary + bonus + free wine subscription + employee share options for the right candidate.
The way it's going to play out it is... we would like you to create a 1-2 min video convincing us why you think you're the person for the job. You can be as creative or straightly-one-eighty as you think's best. It's completely up to you.
Then please upload your video to youtube and send us the link and your CV via email (please find the email address by clicking above, as the Loop doesn't let us write it here).
Applications are open until Friday the 10th of March. We're going to pick our favourite 5-10 candidates and progress you onto round 2, for some more fun and games.
And that's the whole burrito. If you've read this far, you must really be interested! And we're excited to hear from you.
