Amanda Kirkman is the Business Director at Shorthand, a creative studio from Newcastle Australia specialising in Brand Identity.
Our aim is to use visual identity and communication to help businesses define their brand through who they are and how they engage their audience.
Holding a degree in Visual Communications, Amanda’s background working as a designer allows her to have a unique perspective for running the studio.
For the first six years of her career she worked with a variety of agencies and clients predominantly in Victoria before launching the studio in 2014 with Scott Kirkman in Newcastle.
She has had been written about by the Creative Women’s Circle and The Young Ones magazine and had her worked featured online with Desktop Magazine, Women of Graphic Design, Behance, Under Considerations ‘For Print Only’ and Vulture Magazine. She has been published in two Counter Print books for brandmark design.
She is actively involved in Newcastle’s creative community exhibiting with Look See for the past four years, mentoring in portfolio review workshops as part of Look Hear festival, participating in the TDK exhibitions and speaking at TDK Tuesdays.
