Sensilab Torii

About the project

The Sensilab Torii was a collaborative project between Monash University Faculty of Information Technology and Monash Art, Design, & Architecture. This pop-up installation for Monash University Open Day 2015 was an interactive display that mapped realtime animated projections onto wooden ‘gateway’ structures. The behaviour of the visuals were transformed, warped, distorted, by using a medical-grade breathing monitor connected to an audience participant. Rhythmically generating sound and image throughout space, Sensilab’s Torii constructed a unique, personal, experiential environment with no two habitat ever being the same.
