With an eager attitude, the transition into a 100% digital role was awarded and quickly taken on with passion. Moving away from print projects, the role focused on designing microsites, eDMs, websites, banners, and animations for internal and external clients. New responsibilities were encouraged working with the digital team at eg+ by leading meetings and liasing with clients on a weekly basis. Each day was self driven and regular catchups with the team meant all projects could be successfully provided to the client at a great quality in time with the deadline.
Continuing working in a fast-paced agency environment to produce a high quality of both print and digital design with an encouraging amount of responsibility. Having been a part of the team for over a year the role became much more engaging with others reaching out to seek advice on work processes. Being involved in all areas of the eg+ studio meant working on conceptual designs, EDM's, web banners and tiles, extensive publications and brochures, flyers, illustrations, campaign collateral, amenable/interactive PDF's. It also required strong finished art skills and ability to work effectively within short deadlines. Great initiative was proven when asked to lead a small team to develop and create an internal landing page which required liaising with managers within the company, presenting conceptual ideas to senior team members and organising ongoing meetings to ensure deadlines were always met. After leaving a great impression, further encouragement was given by continuing to be allowed involvement in leading a small team for additional external projects.
Concluding the internship position and being asked to continue full time was a great reward, and continued with the same role, though with more responsibility as a part of the studio. This allowed for the skills learnt to be put into further action and produce a high standard of work to clients including NAB and Mercedes Benz. Involvement in the studio meant a higher reliance on fulfilling the clients needs within a short turnaround time. The hub+ environment quickly proved to be comfortable with production of print and digital design, including campaign collateral, internal landing pages, EDM's, web banners and tiles, brochures, flyer, amendable/interactive PDF's, press ads publications as well as finished art and pre-press requirements.
Working in collaboration with another graduate designer the Melbourne Underground Film Festival required branding for their 2014 event. Processes including producing a logo, business card a digital booklet for potential sponsors. The branding had to reflect previous years and ensure the correct tone and aesthetic was portrayed for the company.
After graduating this position allowed growth in skills as well as learning the attributes needed to work in the advertising industry. With responsibilities at Hub+ involving print and digital design, illustration, finished art, pre-press and amendable/interactive pdf's, there was great encouragement to understand how an agency works.
Over a four month period whilst studying, this volunteer role required skills in publication and finished art to produce print works including direct marketing brochures and flyers branded to the International Women's Development Agency.
During studying this opportunity arose to assist in creating over 200 pieces of digital iconography to be used in Albumworks online program. It called upon consistency throughout all web tiles to ensure easy usability for customers.
The task was given to students to create a poster promoting the college's upcoming Open Day. The brief required a reflection of the college and the environment that future students would be a part of. The original photographic imagery presented in the final designs were chosen to promote the college in a digital and print space, and was published in the 2014 VTAC Guide.
During studies students were given the task to produce a poster that would be used by the charity, Grenadi Care. The brief required a design that reached a younger generation informing them of the injustice between first and third world countries, focusing specifically on human trafficking.
