I have 5 years industry experience made up of producing seasonal catalogues/magazines, promotional material, project management and marketing.
I have graduated with my Honours degree in Visual Communications and Design at Newcastle University in 2011. Since then, I have engaged in numerous projects including producing product catalogues/magazines (from 8-96 pages) and developed my own (side project) business specialising in wedding invitations and stationery. I am a driven person who loves to keep busy!
The most recent of my experience as a full time in-house graphic designer at a promotional company often requires me to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. One of the responsibilities in my current job is in project management and design of seasonal catalogues (from 8 to 96 pages) and email marketing for two companies. This includes concept development, collecting content and images, design, layout, editing, proofing and preparing files for print. These catalogues are laid out in a magazine style, aimed at the corporate and education industries. In these projects I work collaboratively, as well as on my own.
I often liaise with commercial printers and decorators locally and across Australia. I have to be creative and resourceful in problem solving and making the impossible seem possible. As part of the nature of this job, the conditions are ever changing and I have learned to be flexible in order to prioritize jobs and work in a timely manor. As a result, I have the ability to multi-task, which means working on several
projects at one time.
I have received positive feedback and comments from my employers about my hard workmanship, efficiency, positivity, can-do attitude and my ability to work calmly under pressure. I will go above and beyond to get a project finished and am not afraid of long hours. I take great pride in my work and am a driven, goal-orientated person.
