The National Broadband Network needed a state-of-the art website to support Senator Stephen Conroy’s upcoming public launch of the National Digital Economy Strategy at CeBIT. The tricky part? This was happening in just eight weeks time.
What the website really needed to do was show the positive impact the NBN would have on Australia’s economy. As one of the highest profile government undertakings in some time, the NBN was of interest to metropolitan businesspeople and rural families alike. We needed to make sure our website spoke to all of them.
To make the relevant information accessible to people from all walks of life, we kept things clear and simple. Breaking info into easy to digest segments, we made sure the information architecture directed people to the content they were after. And using a Q&A formula, every topic was signposted both visually and verbally. The site was also designed to work for all devices.
