Escape Gallery is a commercial fine art Gallery providing a professional environment for local and regional established visual artists and emerging artists to exhibit and sell their work. My role as acting Manager and Curator for the period of 10 months consisted of creating and managing 3 major exhibitions plus opening to the public on a weekly basis, running and curating the owners stable of art plus new and emerging local and regional artworks. The first event/exhibition was the re-opening of the space and curating works by over 40 local and regional artists.

The Gallery is conveniently located and intends to be an important part of the region’s art trail while leveraging off the “cultural gateway” positioning of Murwillumbah together with other established galleries within the Tweed Shire.

As a temporary Curator for the Owners I endeavored to showcase and sell a varied collection of art including paintings, prints and sculpture, working with the existing destination branding and working with arts collectives and the Tweed community together to raise the profile of local artists to residents and visitors.

Creating an active Escape Gallery Face Book page for local artists and art lovers to interact with and keep up to date with the events and exhibiting works and connections with Local and neighboring Shire Businesses and Creative Industries. Maintaining Media relations and collective networking for the Gallery and artists connected with the Gallery
