My role as a sales consultant meant I had to be confident, focussed, be able to see each customer's need, even if they didn't know what it was they needed, and keep up with weekly sales targets. In one year 3 months I went from a novice who knew nothing about sales to the top sales consultant for Quarter 1, 2016.
Initially I was hired as a grocery assistant, splitting up to 35 pallets of stock in three hours with two other people and once complete shelving the stock; but I was given other roles later on in my time. One such role was to run the changeover team on a Sunday night, meeting with product reps to make sure the front and back end displays were complete for Monday morning. The other was organisation and stocking of the alcohol department, all while being ready to assist customers when required.
