About Laura

I am a fine artist ,with some 30 years of experience . I trained in London at The Slade School of fine art , have taught at the said school and at Wimbledon school of art .During this period I was employed as coordinator, designer and teacher of specialist drawing courses, fir degree students . I also directed a foundation art course ( pre degree) and taught painting and drawing in an adult education environment .
I have lived and worked in Sydney for 12 years . I Have had annual solo exhibitions , often 2 and have been represented by a The Metro Gallery Melbourne ,Artequipty Sydney and Studio Gallery WA . I have been a finalist in many of the leading art competitions .not least the Paddington art prize and The Portia Geach . During this period I have successfully sold my own work and that of others and have worked as a gallerist .
I would be keen to work in any of the aforementioned areas . In addition I would be excited to bring my experience and visual acuity to any other creative discipline such as interior design , retail or floristry . These are areas where my knowledge of colour , keen eye and sense of style ,would be most effectively utilised .
Having been a successful freelancer for a considerable period , I have a strong work ethic and considerable time management skills . I work well in teams but am not aversed to leadership roles, if required . Having taught and in my role as Gallerist , I consider myself to be a strong communicator , with an ability to empathise and inspire and to illicit the best from others .
