About the project

PARK|PARK is a pop-up installation presented for PARK(ing) Day 2010, exploring how we choose to use and activate public space in our cities. PARK(ing) Day is an annual, worldwide event where metered parking spots are transformed into temporary public spaces, enabling precious urban real estate to be leased on a short-term basis simply by paying the meter. The team had lots of fun 'parking' the pop-up installation across Sydney CBD, with Gaffa inviting us to present the project in their Keeper Gallery for two weeks following the installation across the city.

PARK|PARK was designed by Marion Gelbart, Harriet Watts and Sarah Spackman and presented by &Company.

Park | Park was selected for inclusion in 'DIY Urbanism', Tin Sheds Gallery April 7th-30th 2011, part of the exhibition and symposium 'The Right to the City'. For more info on the symposium check out www.therighttothecity.com
