Flat White Spaces was established as a means for emerging and established artists to exhibit their work in under-utilized spaces around Australia’s sunny Gold Coast. My friend Dave invited me to submit something for the first ever show, so I devised these three pieces. Each one is made up of glossy white vinyl shapes, cut out from silhouettes of objects, suggested by each word—for example, “Flat” is made up of flat things (no the dog isn’t a mistake, it’s a flat-coated retriever), “White” is made up of white things and “Spaces” is made up of things from space.
