Mandylights provided creative design and lighting direction for the 2010 and 2011 Floriade NightFest events. Supplying everything from design through to equipment sourcing, installation and operation, Mandylights used over 1,000 lighting fixtures over a 25 acre site to transform Canberra's Commonwealth Park into an illuminated wonderland.
The Mandylights team designed a number of unique fixtures for the project, including a hundred internally lit hanging umbrellas, vintage birdcages and a range of huge inflatable stars.
Mandylights designed and extensive data network that was permanently installed in conduit under Commonwealth Park. When activated for Floriade, lighting operators are able to control the entire site via iPad remote controls.
Extensive attention to detail in both design and programming ensured that the event's lighting evolved over each night, meaning that guests could return to the same flower beds at different times to discover new and exciting lighting effects.
