Radical Redesign Intern
Adelaide, South Australia
TACSIs Radical Redesign Team are looking for a service/industrial/interaction/graphic designer wanting to use design for social good - you might be fresh out of design school, or a seasoned designer looking for a career change.
You’ll come on board for the next month to help us rapidly prototype and iterate two new solutions in the area of ageing and caring: Weavers & Care Reflect. Some days, you might be visualising abstract concepts; other days you might be turning a room into an immersive training environment; still other days you might be making & remaking flyer packs, signs, posters, prompt cards, tools, materials to test with family, friends, and service providers in caring situations. You’ll be joining a team of 8 - including a graphic designer, service designer, and interactions designer; a social scientist; a teacher; a community organiser; a business analyst; and a secondee from local government. As you’ll be jumping in head first, you’ll have an awful lot of initiation, energy, willingness to learn, and most of all, ability to produce great quality stuff, quickly.
You have a background in service, industrial, interaction and or graphic design and have experience developing materials & products from the perspective of end users.
You are adept visualising abstract concepts, and making tangible products that are fresh, bold. You’ll speak fluent photoshop, illustrator and indesign - web experience desirable.
You’ll have an ‘anything is possible’ attitude who can make great, even surprising stuff happen fast - be it finding a venue, dressing a space, creating a recruitment experience, etc.
You judge the success of your work based on how effectively it engages the intended audience.
You are a gifted communicator - you can create fresh and fun materials for lots of different audiences and are able to see things from the perspective of the person using your materials.
You are good at receiving feedback and adapting your ideas when they do not work.
You thrive on working as part of a team.
You perform well under pressure and can work to very short time frames. Constraints don’t bother you: you just work around them.
We’re hoping you can start work with us as soon as possible - for up to 8 weeks. We can contribute to temporary relocation costs within Australia, for accommodation, and provide a stipend.
