BBC Worldwide’s Global Channels business comprises a portfolio of thematic and composite channels in the UK and around the world reaching over 300 million homes.
The Australasian programming team currently looks after 5 BBC branded multi-genre channels in Australia and New Zealand. These include the thematic channel BBC Knowledge, General Entertainment channel UKTV (which has unique versions in both Australia and New Zealand) and Childrens’ channel CBeebies.
In Australia, we are seeking talented and committed professionals to join our growing team based at our HQ in Macquarie Park, NSW.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Creative Strategy
•Work proactively with the Creative Director and Senior Producer – Entertainment Channels to develop and maximise creative, devising creative solutions for key promotions;
•Work to both formal and informal creative briefs from a number of departments, including programming, scheduling and marketing;
•Research and propose creative solutions to given briefs, ensure output is highly targeted and meets agreed objectives;
•Demonstrate that all campaigns are on brief and respects brand values;
•Using strong copy writing skills generate copy and present ideas and concepts to best meet the brief, including targets and key messages;
•Work closely with the team to create promos that are targeted to the relevant audience;
•Develop strong working relationships with internal and external clients and partners;
•Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.
Production
•Write, direct and produce promos and other on-air materials;
•Using scripts, treatments, storyboards and other related material pitch, develop and create promotional campaigns based on marketing briefs;
•Ensure delivery of the most innovative creative using the best and most efficient production techniques for a given project whether originated, animated or clip based, using strong visual imagery, design, audio, design, music, sync and voice over to best deliver key messages to viewers;
•Direct live action shoots when appropriate as well as edits, VO and audio sessions;
•Create marketing tapes and sales reels as required;
•Ensure all materials created are of the highest quality in terms of production;
•Ensure all spots are editorially accurate and in accordance with brand guidelines, as well as in technical compliance for play out.
Budget
•Work within budget issued, including resource management and the contracting of resource personnel – working closely with Junior Promo Producers, Promo Coordinator and Production Manager;
•Ensure all projects are delivered to fixed deadlines; and
•Obtain by negotiation the best possible value for money.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
•Previous experience in similar role within the media industry;
•Exceptional organisation and time management skills;
•High level of attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy when working under pressure;
•Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and highly responsive to changes at short notice;
•An ability to work on your own whilst also able to work as a part of a cohesive team;
•Flexible ‘can do’ attitude with a willingness to learn;
•Effective communicator with the ability to follow instructions and direction;
•Anticipates problems and uses initiative; and
•A passion for television – especially British Programming.
