Position Description
ITD is offering an internship/work experience position.
ITD is Australia’s largest gay and lesbian events company, producing over 60 events per year from 3000 capacity dance events to monthly events in 3 states right down to weekly events. We are looking for an intern to join us at a time when we experiencing an unprecedented growth in the number of events we hold. We are looking for an extremely organised admin-savvy, multi-tasking copy-writing, marketing intern extraordinaire to join the team for ITD. The successful candidate will be interested and/or experienced in:
Public relations and/or marketing
Copywriting
Research
Being the main point of contact for incoming marketing and advertising enquiries
Copywriting bios and blog content for ITD’s event websites and social media channels
Assist in content managing ITD’'s event websites
General marketing admin and ad-hoc requests
Management of competitions and media partner activations during campaign
If this sounds like you and you’re in uni/college or recently graduated, this internship may be perfect for you. It’s a great opportunity to participate in real hands on work, learn new skills and experience a broad range of events which cater for the gay and lesbian community. It will also be a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about marketing, music and events to hone their skills and knowledge as they will be exposed to and involved in every aspect of the campaign for our events.
The PR/Marketing Intern work will require you to work from our office in Surry Hills, about three days a week. However, the hours are negotiable and you must be good at working on your own and following instructions and you may be required to work remotely too, should the need arise.
We are ideally looking for someone with self initiative that can bring their ideas to the table and follow any leads that they believe will help publicise and market ITD events.
The internship program can be structured to suit uni/college requirements, if needed.
We cannot promise a fulltime position at the end of the internship but if you work hard, fit into the team and an opportunity exists, there is a chance you will be back for some contract work at least. We must make it clear that this is unpaid work experience but any event work that you do out of the office time will be paid.
