The Motion Designer will be responsible for the creation and development of on-air and off air promotions, cross promotions, conference presentations and digital requests. They will also assist with development of the on-air branding for BBC Worldwide Channels in Australia & New Zealand. They will report into the Creative Director as well as actively help support the wider Creative Services team, when and where necessary. All design elements created will be in accordance with creative standards and required 'look and feel' of specific channels. The role will require the ability to pitch ideas using an array of visual layouts, animatics, moodboards etc. The role also requires working closely with the Marketing & Programming departments for specific integrated campaigns. All campaigns must retain high creative and production standards while respecting brand values and delivering on time and budget.
Adhere to brand identity.Brand custodian for the entire BBC Worldwide Australia and New Zealand channel portfolio, ensuring all branded creative solutions and executions are on brand.An understanding of 360 campaigns desired.An understanding of Post Production, the facilities on offer and the difference each piece of hardware can do to help enhance the creative process is also desired.To achieve all requested outcomes on time and within budget.To be an energetic / enthusiastic member sharing ideas and best practice.Keep apace with general trends and developments in the wider creative industry and sharing it with the wider team.Be aware of local market TV regulations and restrictions.Working closely with the Programming and Marketing teams, to share creative input and ideas.With Creative Director have ability to pitch work and then get it signed off by key internal stakeholdersBe able to discuss and listen to feedback and act on it constructively.To have the ability to offer up a range of creative routes where appropriate, as part of the creative development process.Design, illustrate, and conceptualise through moodboards / storyboards a visual interpretation of creative concept.
Knowledge & Skills
Proven experience in broadcast, print and digital design.Fluency in graphics and animation programs such as Adobe Illustrator,Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After Effects and a basic knowledge of Maxon 4D Cinema is desirableExcellent Apple Mac skills.Strong creative and analytical skills.Strong knowledge of typography, design fundamentals and colour.Strong knowledge of moving image and current animation techniques.A creative portfolio, showcasing innovative design solutions.Excellent Knowledge of current trends, creative executions and technology / software.A proven track record of TV broadcast work and Off Air Marketing solutions.Good knowledge of the production process and deliverables for (Video, Print and Digital).Ability to work on a multitude of projects at once.Experienced in high volume of work and tight turnaround deadlines.Ability to work with the design team in a collaborative and dynamic environment as well as and on self-contained projects.Good creative skills and creative judgment with a keen interest in art & media.Clear knowledge of the appropriate production processes, relevant tools and techniques.A professional and creative team member and team player.Ability to prioritise tasks and projects and work well under pressure.Ability to show initiative and work cooperatively with team members to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all design material.Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts.The ability to work autonomously as a fully effective and creative designer to deliver a technically correct and high end finished product as per the brief;
