We’re looking for an experienced editor to join our Online division as the Managing Editor of the SBS Food website. Reporting to the Director, Online and Emerging Platforms, this role is responsible for shaping the editorial direction of SBS’ online food presence and managing all aspects of the SBS Food website and emerging platforms strategy.
The SBS Food website features recipes and cross-platform content from SBS Food programming across TV, Radio and Magazines, along with exclusive online content. Flagship brands include Food Safari, Luke Nguyen's Vietnam and My Sri Lanka with Peter Kuruvita.
In this diverse role, you’ll develop and implement successful editorial and product strategies for food content across digital platforms and be responsible for managing a significant content budget to achieve traffic targets.
You’ll work with SBS Marketing to raise awareness of and increase traffic to SBS Food digital platforms through eDMs, SEO, SEM, social media channels and multiplatform promotions. You’ll work with SBS commercial teams to increase revenue.
You have a strong editorial background with at least two years experience managing editorial and product strategy for a print or online publication. You have experience managing a small team within in a multimedia production environment and are passionate about getting the most out of your people. Your written and verbal communications skills are second to none and you have solid experience with online content management systems. A tertiary qualification in Journalism, Communications or similar is highly regarded.
