Graphic Designer / Accessories Design Assistant

Toffee is a fast growing Sydney based company that designs premium accessories for Apple devices such as MacBooks, iPhones and iPads. We distribute our products to major retailers around Australia and overseas, and pride ourselves on overseeing the design, manufacture, marketing and wholesaling/ retailing.
We are looking for a Graphic Designer and an Accessories Design assistant to join our team on a casual basis (2-3 days a week to start).

To be considered for the role you will have:
• Design Degree or associated graphics and fashion qualifications
• Solid working knowledge of Adobe CS5 Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat on a Mac
• Solid knowledge of printing and pre-press requirements, including bleeds and colour management
• Strong Photoshop skills including retouching and deep etching
• Strong Illustrator and sketching abilities
• Experience designing accessories, particularly bags
• Ability to execute creative concepts in line with brand strategy
• Experience with a wide variety of fabrics, particularly leather, plus canvas, cotton and nylon
• Experience with sample development and communicating with overseas factories
• The ability to work effectively from creative briefs
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Ideally at least two years’ experience in a similar role
Desirable skills:
• Confident user and knowledge of social media platforms
• Developing EDMs, online campaigns, web banners
• Ability to write clever and creative, brand appropriate content
• PR, copywriting skills
• Experience in using Content Management Systems
Soft Skills:
• An outgoing and enthusiastic “can-do” attitude
• High level of organization – working well under deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail
• Ability to multi-task and work within agreed timeline
• Solid knowledge of the retail market place, competitors and trends
• A passion for design, accessories and for the products you are designing
You would be responsible for:
• Deep etching, retouching and resizing images for web and print
• Designing in-house marketing and advertising material (brochures, catalogue advertisements, business cards, packaging, tradeshow banners) in line with current branding
• Implementing and working on brand projects such as photo shoots – campaign & look book
• Researching new techniques and trends in fashion, textiles and accessories
• Sourcing new fabrics and suppliers
• Assisting with range developments
• Setting up specs sheets for suppliers
• Assisting the marketing team as required
