The team is now looking for an Editor for lifestyle.com.au to join the team in North Ryde for 6 months!
In this role you will manage the in-house creation of timely and trend-setting editorial content for LifeStyle's website and social assets. This includes the production of content across LifeStyle's key pillars (Food, Health, Style, DIY, Travel) as well as original content to support local TV productions, including: Selling Houses Australia, Grand Designs Australia and The Great Australian Bake Off.
The role is responsible for spearheading LifeStyle's in-house content strategy; working with the Senior Editor - lifestyle.com.au to create exciting and market-leading editorial and video content on lifestyle.com.au, ensuring maximum click through from social.
The Editor will be required to co-ordinate the Junior Editor, Social Media Producer and Video Producer and will liaise directly with internal departments to ensure LifeStyle is creating content that puts it ahead of the curve.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver daily traffic report outlining previous day's top 10 / traffic highlightsProduce a daily trending / content wrap collating all stories that will be covered on the site that day to be shared with the team and discussedEnsure daily story selections are timely using traffic analysis/social insights to predict performance and a keen understanding of trending topicsOrganise and facilitate LifeStyle video shoots to create both digital and social assets including on air talent, experts and influencersWork closely with Marketing and Brand Partnerships on LifeStyle's events strategy, maximizing content creation and support from a digital perspectiveCo-ordinate with Publicity to create content around media launchesDevelop content series ideas and work with the Senior Editor on developing new strategies through video, social, exclusive online channels, etc.Develop and implement editorial strategy and content plan in order to meet LifeStyle's online traffic targets and consumer needsMaximise on and off network promotion across online, TV and print to drive audience by working closely with internal and external Marketing teams
What we're looking for:6+ years in editorial content production across magazines, digital and television Outstanding written and verbal communication skillsStrong understanding of content creation experience for lifestyle websitesUnderstanding of online content management systems with a solid understanding of SEO and web design/development principlesExperience using Adobe Photoshop, video hosting platforms (eg. We’re after a wordsmith with 7 years’ experience who specialises in warmth, bounce and wit to lead tone of voice and write copy across digital (including eDMs, Facebook, instagram, blogs, SEO), catalogues and print.
You’ll be spearheading creative with our brilliant and flat-out lovely Art Director, taking ownership of ideation and able to brief in, and collaborate with, Marketing, Customer Service and Technical teams.
A blend of creative copywriting and strategic marketing, you’ll be on top of trends in fashion, homewares and gifting, and have a commercial brain that finds the shop-able angle in every great idea.
It’s also handy if you’ve got a grounding in UX and strong awareness of customer journey from acquisition all the way through the checkout process and beyond.
Flair, humour and idea generation are essential in this role, as is the ability to manage your own workload across multiple daily deadlines. Being a small team full of good humans, you’ll need to be one of those, too – respectful of what everyone brings to the table and quick to throw your hat in when needed.
