Youth Challenge Australia’s (YCA) Volunteers In Community Engagement (VoICE) program offers skilled Australians aged 21-30 the opportunity to volunteer in India on short-term placements.

Funded by AusAID, participants work alongside YCA’s partner organisations, local counterparts, and local communities to build the capacity and strengthen the sustainability of local development initiatives.

YCA is looking to recruit a Creative Designer to work with its partner The Belaku Trust in Bangalore, India. The successful candidate will be working with Belaku’s Income Generation Groups (IGGs), which are comprised of three groups of women located in villages in the Karnataka region. Candidates will be working with the IGGs to create new designs for products and samples for the women to work from, as well as help to market, manage orders and assist with sales of the women’s products during Christmas and Diwali. Candidates may also be required to assist with the development of marketing and advertising materials.

Applications are open until Wednesday 6th June. The successful candidate will be placed with the Belaku Trust from September 2012.
