We want your vision, your skills and your ambition.
This is personal! Our principal is looking for a creative partner. Someone with whom to build a studio known for its design concepts and production integrity.
It is a full-time position, but can be part-time if the person/conditions are right.
Ellis Jones first established a design desk four years ago. Today, we produce the full scope of design outcomes across digital and print. We have all the necessary systems and experience. Now we want to take the next step to developing a standalone studio, known for breaking new ground, for its own style, and for the deep conceptual nature of the work.
The ultimate destination is a studio whose work is breathtaking and whose legacy is lasting.
Are you are ready to take this journey with us? If you are, you will come with unique perspectives, substance, acute awareness, charisma and confidence. You will need to collaborate and lead. You will be engaged in all that we do at Ellis Jones.
We are recognised for our ability to embed brand identity and messaging in compelling visual narrative. We work as a team, with brand and communication strategists, copywriters and designers around the table, all providing welcome input. And we do it all with a strong social purpose.
The challenges you'll face
Most of your work will be delivered as part of integrated marketing and communications campaigns and projects. You will be the visual anchor for ideas among a team of great communicators who are not designers.
That means you need to bring your skills and abilities to bear. You need to be able to tell the story behind your work: your creative journey, what the result means, and how it will resonate with the intended audience.
You will also work autonomously. That means you have to watch your deadlines and those of your colleagues. You will find answers to your questions because you are linked into design networks and you follow leading designers online.
What you'll get!
This is serious offer of collaboration to develop a design studio that is like no other, and one that all other studios respect and admire. That means that, in addition to the base salary, you will share in all profit from design work. You will be given all the tools you need to achieve the goals you will share with our principal. And you'll do it from our light-filled converted warehouse space in Collingwood.
Are you the person we dream about? If so, please apply!
