About Me
Fiona is based in Perth and works as a freelance set and costume designer.
Fiona Bruce has a Bachelor of Performance Studies from Curtin University and a Bachelor of Production Design from WAAPA, graduating in 2009 with the David Hough award for Design. In 2010 she was deckchair’s Emerging Designer, assisting on Grace, The Danger Age, and Modern International Dead, and was the set designer for their umbrella production of Ruby Moon. Also in 2010 Fiona designed for Black Swan’s HotBed production of Yellow Moon and The Shape of Things which won an Equity Guild Award for Set Design. Her other work includes HotBed 2006 (Falling Petals), STRUT/Performing Lines (Breakings 2010), and assistant designer for Bryan Woltjen Theatrical Design, ThinIce (Antigone), STEPS (Moonwebs and Scorched Thongs) and Black Swan (Much Ado About Nothing). She is currently John Curtin College of the Arts’ Resident Designer and an Associate Artist at Black Swan State Theatre Company.
