Fiona is based in Perth and works as a freelance set and costume designer.
Fiona Bruce has a B. Performance Studies from Curtin University and a B. Production Design from WAAPA, graduating in 2009 with the David Hough award for Design.
In 2010 she was Deckchair Theatre’s Emerging Designer, set designer for Deckchair/Always Working Artists Ruby Moon, set and costume designer for Lorelei (2011) and The Fremantle Candidate (2012). For Black Swan she has assisted on Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Rising Water, and designed their HotBed (2010) productions Yellow Moon and The Shape of Things- winning an Equity Guild Award for Set Design. 2012 saw her design debut in the Heath Ledger Theatre with Boy Gets Girl.
Other projects include The Blue Room (The Polite Gentleman, Glengarry Glen Ross), STRUT/Performing Lines (Breakings), event design for Steamworks, John Curtin College of the Arts’ Resident Designer (2010) and design lecturing at WAAPA.
