CAFÉ REBETIKA! celebrates the exotic, passionate music of Greek rebetika, “the Greek Blues”.? Set in a hash den in 1930s Piraeus, the story weaves together the tales of musicians, thieves, hookers and local identities against the backdrop of politically unstable Greece under Metaxis.
The show premiered at the Victorian Arts Centre in 2009 and is touring the Australian east coast during 2011.
