Having always possessed an interest in portraiture, my practice involves combining elements from my two passions: art and music. Through utilising wild colours, in my paintings I aim to represent my interest in psychedelic imagery from the sixties. In these paintings, the works are composed so that there is a dynamic balance between empty space and detailed brushwork with vibrant colour. With this art style, the main sources of inspiration include music videos as well as the work of individual artists including George Gittoes and Martin Sharp.
Having spent my early years drawing with pencils, my practice has expanded as I have developed many styles using other materials such as acrylic and oil paint, charcoal, pastels and pen. My practice also involves experimenting with traditional art materials to discover new and innovative techniques for the creation of artworks. Finally, my work also incorporates elements from contemporary design and popular culture.
