Design Computing refers to an area of Design Studies that deals with furthering the understanding and the practice of design activities through the application and development of novel concepts and techniques in computing.

Volunteer sub event web/graphic designer

SMASH

Tasks involved: * Provided knowledge of design and basic prepress knowledge to ensures highest effectiveness is applied to the whole marketing campaign. * Design sub event Maid cafe's Mascot for promotion purpose. * Creating web presence for Maid cafe on Smash!. * Designing effective promotional marketing materials before the day and on-the-day. * Photo editing, cropping and colour adjustments. * Communicating with the co-ordinator in charge of Smash - Maid Cafe. September 2010 — November 2010

Design Computing Coordinator of Archipelago

Faculty of Architecture, University of Sydney

Involvement in the Archipelago Organising Team - voluntary representative students from the Master Architecture, Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Design Computing (DECO) responsibile for organising graduate exhibition Nov 26th - Dec 3rd 2010. Tasks undertaken: * Introducing the use of QR code as the Sub theme in the Archipelago. * Collation of the best selection of students' projects to represent what DECO is to the public in Faculty's Graduate catalogue and the Tinshed gallery. * Participation in commitee meetings and understanding the event managmenet, sponsorship, marketing, security, equipment, location, delagation and regulations. * Floor planning for flow of human traffic around the gallery and works to encourage the use of interactive spaces. * Communicating with DECO Lecturers and previous exhibition Coordinators on exhibition experience, catalogue booklet formulation, company contacts for invitations, student works, ipod touches hiring and multitouch table needs.

Tasks involved: * Handle all design and prepress operation setting ready to go off to digital and offset print. * Interact with suppliers and client through "entourage" (email system) and phone to communicate design changes and approvals. * Prioritise the urgency of deadlines of each clients. * Reproduce and customise according to client's request. Freelance Graphic Designer

Face Fashion

May 2009 — September 2009 (5 months) Worked volunteerly through the Front house co-ordinator helping with Face Fashion's graphic design needs in hosting professional, high-end fashion events, profiling new and emerging designer talent. Referee letter available on request.
