Ashley Barron is a Cinematographer often described as having European sensibilities with a Hollywood twist.
Born in Russia, she lived in Ireland's south before calling Australia home. She worked as a Camera Assistant before being selected as 1 of 28 Cinematographers in the world to train at the American Film Institute Conservatory in Hollywood. There she lensed "Dreamland" which enjoyed international acclaim, earned her a nomination at the Camerimage Cinematography Film Festival, and profiled in both the American and Australian Cinematographer magazines. Her work has since screened at festivals worldwide, earned Vimeo Staff Picks and featured on Shortoftheweek, FilmShortage and Reddit.
Her heritage and international background informs both her perspective and approach, bringing a unique edge to each project and an ability to adapt to any location and personality.
Although Ashley's work has earned her a reputation for a brave and emotive style with an uncompromising attention to detail - understanding story is her specialty.
