Awards & Achievements

2007

Singer Young Designer Award Runner Up

I entered the dress and accessories I designed for my year 12 major design project into the Singer Young Designer competition run in Machine Embroidery and Textile Art magazine. My entry was chosen as a finalist, and so was published in an edition of the magazine. It was then awarded runner up in the competition, and so was exhibited at the Stitches Show in Sydney before travelling around Australia and being exhibited at similar events.The dress was constructed using a fabric I made from used plastic bags. the award honoured design as well as craftsmanship and innovation.

2008

Australian Sewing Guild's National Fashion Awards, Wearable Art Winner, Overall Runner Up

Using a dress I made, Wood Nymph Symphony, I entered the ASG’s NFA in the Wearable Art section. The dress was chosen as the winner of this section, as well as receiving the overall Runner up for Outstanding Excellence award. The dress was paraded at the awards, exhibited and paraded at Textile Fibre Forum in Orange, and was featured in an edition of the NSA's newsletter.

2010

Art U Wear Finalist

With the theme Alice in Wonderland, I construted a dress for the Red Queen. It was chosen as one of around 20 finalists to be exhibited as part of the Brisbane Textile Arts festival.

2010

Art of Recycling Finalist

Using the vintage inspired outfit I designed and made in Germany, which is made using more than 50% recycled materials, I was chosen as one of around 20 finalists in this competition, being exhibited as a result.

2012

Berlinale Best film, International Jury

A short film I acted as costume designer and production designer on, BINO, won best film by International Jury and Special Mention by Kinder Jury in Berlin's Film festival, Berlinale
