About Me
Ali J is an artist/illustrator that creates artworks that are whimsical, dreamy and invoke the imagination. Her characters are modern; fashionable and often feature red rosy cheeks. She resides in Perth, Western Australia.
Ali J has an Advanced Diploma of Fine Art (2009), a Certificate of Interior Decoration (2000) and is currently studying a Diploma of Business (2011).
Artworks are painted or drawn on canvas or paper with the occasional digital creation. Her favourite technique is painting on top of vintage book pages that creates artworks that speak of colour, imagery and the written word. Her colour palette is strong with the use of bold modern colours often in hues of blues, greens and reds.
Her works speak of relationships, childlike fantasy, people and portraits. Her figures are relatable and often remind us of someone we know.
