Rob graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts Production School in 2005, majoring in Sound Design. He has worked in performance, film, installations and with artists from around the world. He has also worked as a teacher and assessor at the VCAM. Highlights in his practice as a sound designer include working with British artist Gina Czarnecki programming the interactive public installation Contagion that received the prestigious Welcome Trust grant in the UK; being co-sound designer for The Tragedy of Hamlet: Prince of Denmark which was part of MIFF's Official Selection for 2008; and being nominated for a Green Room award for his work on x:Machine's Senseless. He also works extensively with artist Arlo Mountford on pieces which have shown in Japan, Italy, Korea, China and throughout Australia. Recently Rob has been working on Cop Hard Season 1, which has been selected to be screened as part of Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas.
One of Rob's key interests is in sound performance technology and this was the focus of his Master's of Sound Design at the VCA. For his research a software system was developed for sound performance.
