Overview
Illawarra Performing Arts Centre (IPAC) in Wollongong is one of Australia’s leading regional performing arts centres. The centre is managed for Wollongong City Council by Merrigong Theatre Co. which presents an extensive annual program of professional theatre, dance, music and comedy made up of work from major professional performing arts companies, as well as its own productions. Merrigong also runs a Theatre Development Program which nurtures professional theatre practice in the Illawarra Region, and commissions and develops new work for future production. As a venue for hire, IPAC hosts numerous commercial and community performing arts events.
