I have 4 years of quite varied experience in industries from music, arts and film through to sport, travel & tourism and food & wine. I'm currently working as a PR Account Manager in Perth, but come July 2012 Ill be packing up and heading east to Sydney, where I would like to consolidate my skills and focus on the entertainment industry moving forward.

Key entertainment experience includes working as the Festival Publicist for the 2012 Fringe World festival, Publicist for the 2011 &2012 WAMi Festival and various freelance work for local musicians and comedians.

I work predominantly to fill the role of Publicist and Marketing Manager for clients, however I have also worked in Event Management and have experience booking and managing Advertising budgets.

    In my time at Buzz Marketing, I have managed a number of clients in the entertainment and lifestyle industries. This role allowed me to refine my skills in event management, publicity and media management, advertising and promotions. Some examples of the work I have done for clients is as follows:

    <b>Movie Masters </b>
    <p>
    The Movie Masters are a co-operative initiative between two family owned cinema chains, Ace Cinemas and Grand Cinemas. My work with them over the two years I managed this account included:<p>
    • Coordinating joint marketing initiatives and promotions; from preparing proposals and sourcing prizing partners, preparing artwork, managing entries and coordinating winners
    <p>
    • Managing the two loyalty clubs, Silver Screen and Kids Club including card designs, writing quarterly newsletters, preparing e-newsletters and organizing competitions and promotions to drive membership and reward existing members
    <p>
    • Creating advertising schedules and managing artwork for print and screen, as well as scripts for radio
    <p>
    • Coordinating the build and launch of the Movie Masters iPhone app and Mobile Website
    <p>
    • Coordinating the redevelopment of the Movie Masters website
    <p>
    <b>2012 Fringe World</b>
    <p>
    This was a four month contract to manage the publicity for the 2012 Fringe World festival. The event had 131 ticketed shows, 300 free events and utilized over 30 venues through Perth city and surrounds. Work included:
    <p>
    • Pitching and securing editorial; providing information, images, footage and radio audio to various state and national media outlets
    <p>
    • Writing and sending media releases
    <p>
    • Creating interview opportunities for the festival director and artists
    <p>
    • Creating photo op’s for various outlets and coordinating talent and venues for these photos
    <p>
    • Managing live crosses for shows such as The Project, who did three ‘Metro Whip Around’s’ with Fringe World over the four week period
    <p>
    • Managing media accreditation and organising media review tickets for the 131 ticketed shows
    <p>
    • Social Media management of both the Fringe World Facebook (www.facebook.com/fringeworld) and Fringe World Twitter (www.twitter.com/fringe_world)
    <p>
    <b>2011 & 2012 WAMi Festival</b>
    <p>
    The WAMi Festival is the annual WA Music Industry Festival, celebrating WA music with a week’s worth of events, culminating with the Saturday Spectacular and WAMi Awards Night. Buzz Marketing manages both the sponsorship and publicity for the event, however my role focuses specifically on the publicity for the account including:
    <p>
    • Pitching and securing editorial; providing information, images, footage and radio audio to various state and national media outlets
    <p>
    • Writing and sending media releases
    <p>
    • Liaising with and securing media partners for the event across print, radio, online and television
    <p>
    • Creating and managing interview opportunities for bands
    <p>
    • Managing the media accreditation process and ensuring reviewers and photographers can access all shows required
    <p>
    • Briefing photographers and video crews
    <p>

    <b>CBD Restaurant and Bar</b>
    <p>
    This was a four month contract to do a soft launch of their newly renovated restaurant. Work for this client included:
    <p>
    • Rebranding the website and menu artwork
    <p>
    • Hosting sundowners for media, partners and key local business owners
    <p>
    • Hosting reviewers for lunches and dinners
    <p>
    • Meeting with key partners in the area to forge mutually beneficial partnerships. The restaurant is located next to His Majesty’s Theatre, and a focus was placed on companies utlising the venue such as the WA Ballet, WA Opera and the WA Symphony Orchestra.
    <p>

    PR & Event Coordinator
    2008 - 2010

    As the Public Relations an Events Coordinator, my core responsibilities included:

    • Managing the full season of events in association with the Marketing Manager and CEO, ranging from large outdoor events such as Grand Final days (3,000+ people), to awards dinners of up to 700 people
    <p>
    • Preparing and managing budgets for each event, with approval of management and board
    <p>
    • Promotion of events to networks and general public through a variety of channels including email databases, newsletters, website advertisements, print advertisements and media release’s
    <p>
    • Building and maintaining relationships with key members of the media to ensure coverage of Football West and the sport in general
    <p>
    • Maintaining relationships with current sponsors to ensure that they get the most out of their partnership and writing sponsorship proposals to approach new sponsors
    <p>
    • Researching, writing and sending media releases about various programs, players and activities

    • Responding to media enquiries

    • Website management and updates

    Having had no prior knowledge or experience in sports marketing, this role demonstrated my abilities in quick learning and being creative in presenting effective media and marketing strategies.

  • Capel Vale Winery
    Marketing Support Officer
    2008 - 2008

    I did work experience at Capel Vale wines for four months, leading to me being employed on a three month contract from August to November 2008. This job gave me a good groundwork of marketing and advertising principles, including giving me a basic knowledge of design principles using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
