About Me
Julia is a professional musician with more than 15 years musical experience spanning composing, performing, conducting, audio design and editing in electronic and traditional music. Her musical training includes a Bachelors degree in Music and a Bachelor in Education from UNSW, complemented by a Masters in Music from UNSW with a specialisation in composition, studying under the contemporary composer John Peterson. She was awarded distinctions in all of her composition modules. In addition to these studies, Julia has completed a Certificate III in Electronic Music Production, broadening her compositional versatility and expertise in various DAW systems.
Julia’s expertise has been applied to a wide range of settings. She has significant experience in composition, collaborating with various upcoming film producers to provide music for their short films. In 2006 she had various contemporary works performed at the Sir John Clancy Auditorium at UNSW. 2010 saw Julia’s electronic music compositions coming to life with a unique perspective of rhythmic creations, tone colours, sound effects and harmonies.
Julia’s goal is to create music that inspires the imagination and revolutionises emotional soundscapes.

The Dark Room

'The Dark Room' was a short film documentary about the life and times of modern photographers. I was commissioned to compose the score for piano and strings.

This was a piece of Music composed for harp, flute and strings for a wedding video. It has also been used in compilation CD's for the hospitality industry.
