This year I have been working as the head of promotion for 7/ 62, an online (facebook.com/SevenSixtyTwo) publication (with fantastic content) about the creative industries. I started working with them as a project for University where I met Larissa, their Founder and Creative Director. I soon became inducted as a part of the 7/ 62 crew due to the success of our campaigns and idea generation, measured by a large (now fifty percent) increase of followers on social media. This project allows me creative freedom and the chance to follow my passions with a group of like minded (not to mention awesome) individuals. We are continuing the building of our brand awareness and are planning a print publication to launch in early 2015 (go 7/ 62!).
This opportunity has given me valuable skills that apply to a studio environment (and the chance to unleash my inner typography geek). My typesetting role entailed working within the production team to create the 20 Entertainment Books that we produce for cities across Australia and New Zealand. I translate provided information into our templates and style guidelines in InDesign. As well as typesetting, I have been assisting the Senior Graphic Designer with promotional materials as well as the communication department with elements for email communications. I have also assisted the Frequent Values department with the creation of their custom books.
