George Henderson has no design degree and only his High School Certificate to dance on when squeegeed for his formal education.
Henderson, 26, born wild and raised free between Sydney and the Gold Coast, first clawed his way into the design world as an assistant, before being swiftly promoted to Creative & Design Manager for the Australian arm of global eyewear and clothing company, VonZipper.
This if-you-don't-got-the-official-paper-you-had-better-get-busy-teaching-yourself approach, has seen Henderson try his paws at conceptualisation and design of clothing ranges, ideation and photography of campaigns, fashion and set styling, and directing short films. And the kid’s come up trumps.
Despite citing influences from both the past and the future, it's still the global research trips George affords himself — shooting photos and making new friends — that supply him with the richest licks of inspiration.
