Claymation Characters & Sculpture

Visual Arts, Sculpture

This claymation character and sculpture work pre-dates my earliest Undead-Forever work by about one year.

"Ludis" is the main character in my planned stop-motion animation, "Ludis the Largest Leech in Latvia". The story follows Ludis' progress through the stages of a dog-show.

"Nuclear Family" is made from styrofoam packaging (carved with a craft knife), wire and plaster bandage. It is painted with acrylics.

Initially I sculpted the male skeleton with the two sub-machine guns on his own, I thought it was finished but someone said "why don't you make a woman now?" I did and then they said "I think you should make a child now."

I'm glad I did. I'm particularly pleased with the baby in the mother's arm firing the revolver.

"Dragon Head Thing" is made from clay. It was constructed like a coil pot befpre being fired and then painted in acrylics.

Both of these sculptures were produced as instructional examples to assist secondary students with various sculpture techniques.
