Ideas are my craft and my passion. In the past these ideas have taken the form of advertising campaigns, graphic design, magazine editorial, club nights, radio shows, music videos, branded content and brand strategy.
Some of these ideas have been internationally awarded, and featured in publications around the world. Others (usually the most interesting ones) never made it past the concept stage.
Right now I’m interested in conceiving and executing ideas via content, experiences, creative strategy and emerging media platforms in order to tell a story, innovate and create a positive impact, whether it’s to benefit a brand or the broader community. Ideally for both.
I'm always stoked to hear about opportunities of all kinds from anywhere in the world, so drop me a line if you think we’d get along. (I’m sure we will).
Founded in 2010, Yang and Yang is the entity created by myself and my creative partner to house our past, present and future collaborative projects. To date these have included art installations and music videos, the future however, remains unwritten.
Since 2002 I have maintained a continual stream of freelance projects for a variety of clients, providing creative services that include film, art and creative direction, production, branding and brand strategy, graphic design and photography in industries ranging from fashion, music and entertainment to advertising and the corporate sector.
Clients include: EMI Records, Dew Process Recordings, Universal Music, Modular Records, Strike, Nobody Denim, Calvin Klein, Reform Clothing, Olio Zito and Wealth Creator Magazine.
Film, Creative and Art Director
Commencing in 2005, I worked both in the media and agency arms at Lifelounge, where I created editorial content, photography and design for the internationally renowned Lifelounge Magazine and Lifelounge.com, as well as award winning art direction, ideation, strategy and design for select clients in above the line, experiential, branded content and integrated digital campaigns.
During my time in the Lifelounge creative department (consisting of a team of six), the company garnered a position within the Top 10 ranked creative agencies in Australia, and a Top 20 ranking across the Asia-Pacific region, according to Campaign Brief’s ‘The Work’ in 2009.
Clients included: Adidas, Adidas Originals, Fosters, Pure Blonde, Victoria Bitter, Inertia Records, Cadbury Schweppes, Fairfax Digital/TheVine.com.au, Levi's, Jim Beam, Southern Comfort, Fiji Water, Chiko, STA Travel, Motorola, Nokia, TAC (Transport Accident Commission), Australia Post, Ansell Lifestyle, DMG/Nova Radio, Austereo Radio, Russian Standard Vodka and Lifelounge.com.
In 2005 I began co-managing a monthly club night at Loop in the Melbourne CBD. Over a period of 18 months myself and my partner were responsible for all facets of the night, including booking DJs, VJs and live acts, promoting the night via social media, street posters and flyers as well as playing DJ sets ourselves. During its lifespan the night became revered for its unique attitude and musical focus.
